Live Review: Tangerine Dream Set From Moogfest

This weekend has seen 3 days of synth worship at the North Carolina festival 'Moogfest'. Featured acts include Moby, Passion Pit, Flaming Lips, The Naked and Famous, Crystal Castles, Austra, Battles and Tangerine Dream.

Friday night's major highlight was a performance from Tangerine Dream, with one commentator stating;

"There was a time when the space rock of Tangerine Dream felt so dated. Tonight at Moogfest it feels majestic"

Edgar Froese, the only continuous member of TD since their inception way back in 1967, was obviously impressed not only with the turn-out but also with the whole concept of the distributed festival which acts a fantastic showcase for electronic music of all varieties;

"Moogfest is of one of the best prog festivals in the world, and it is great that people can move about and experience so much music."

NPR music today have made available the audio stream of TD's entire 2-hour set from the night which makes a great background to a murky Sunday, and of course with the comprehensive catalogue of Tangerine Dream performances we have here at Gigseen, you can make a whole day of it and have full video coverage too!
